RESEARCH FEE SCHEDULE
The Jim McMillan Research and Reference Library is operated by the Stevens County Historical Society, a not-for-profit organization. As such, it operates from donations from the public and grants from public and private sources. In order to operate the library, it is necessary to charge fees to help cover its costs. Society members may do personal research for one (1) family without charges but will need to pay for copies etc.

Research Request Information
Single topic research requires a $25 fee. Research will commence upon receipt of fee. Our knowledgeable research staff can normally complete your request in 2-3 weeks. Copies are 20 cents each. If the request generates a lot of information an invoice will be included with the material for copies and mailing.
Digital photos or photos on photo paper are $20. Property ownership claims are an additional $25. Our records date prior to 1985 and include most of the homestead records. General computer genealogical records search: these searches access Genealogical Record sites on the internet that do not require a membership. This type of research is an additional $20.
Commissioners’ records are available to search on Washington State Digital Archives website under Stevens County Commissioners, Meetings and Minutes. This type of search can be performed by our staff upon request for an additional $20.
Due to space constraints, we are unable to facilitate individuals doing their own research. Please provide as much information regarding your request as you can. Full names, maiden names, time frame, etc. can be helpful when doing surname searchers. We hope we can be of assistance and appreciate your support. Researchers are all volunteer and in-house on Wednesday.
