Black Robes and Indians on the Last Frontier
Written in 1966 by Sister Maria Ilma Raufer, O.P., the book is a well researched and well documented presentation about people, places and stories of the arrival of Catholic Priests in NE Washington, This is a reprint of the original book with a few changed out photographs to provide better copies.

A Glimpse Into the Past
This book is just off the press and tells stories in the words of “pioneers” living throughout Stevens County who were interviewed in 1978-80. The interviews were recorded on cassette tapes and then transcribed by Janet Labrecque. Many parts of the interviews have stayed with her all these years. She had a vision of a book that would share with others the words that only she had heard since they were recorded. Janet began working in earnest on the project in 2015 and it is now hot off the press. She made no effort to correct anything, it is just the way the pioneer said it. Janet also included some things of interest in Stevens County.
